The Tianjiabing Education College of Northwest Normal University has recently successfully researched a new technology for seismic isolation of laminated rubber bearings. The Gansu Provincial Earthquake Office has decided to promote the project to all sectors of the province.
The new technology for house isolation is to provide an isolation layer with the upper part of the building as the main body of the building isolation base between the foundation of the house and the upper structure to isolate the seismic energy from the building and separate the ground vibration from the house vibration. To increase the safety of the house, to a large extent, to ensure that the equipment, articles and personnel inside the building are not damaged. Experiments show that the safety of buildings using seismic isolation technology is more than 90% higher than that of ordinary earthquake-resistant buildings. At present, the same type of technology has been widely used in major buildings such as hospitals, banks, fire protection, electric power, highways, bridges, and various monumental buildings in some developed countries.
